The development of the Moldovan-American relations was discussed in Washington
June 7, Washington D.C. – The development of the Moldovan-American relations was discussed by State Secretary Tatiana Molcean during the meeting at the U.S. Department of State with Jorgan Andrews, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Europe and Eurasia and Joe Manso, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Organizations.

The interlocutors have exchanged views on the current state of the Moldovan-American relations, addressing the cooperation within the RM – USA Strategic Dialogues and the calendar of Joint Working Groups meetings, to take place in the near future. The American side appreciated the sustained efforts of the Government of the Republic of Moldova for the implementation of structural reforms.

During the discussion, the appointment of the new Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the United States of America was welcomed, the sides mentioning the importance of the exchange of high-level visits, as well as maintaining a permanent inter-institutional communication between the capitals.

The Department of State highly appreciated the results of the round of 5+2 talks that recently took place in Rome, and the determination of the national authorities to advance in the Transnistrian settlement. At the same time, the sides emphasized the importance of continuing the cooperation in the multilateral framework.
