The Commission for Social Development adopted a resolution coordinated by the Republic of Moldova

At the 57th session of the Commission for Social Development, the Member States adopted by consensus a resolution coordinated by the Republic of Moldova regarding the methods of work of this functional body of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

After being negotiated in several rounds of consultations, the resolution represents an important contribution to improving the work of the Commission for Social Development in the context of ongoing reforms within the United Nations.

During the session (11-21 February 2019) the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Moldova to the United Nations acted as Vice-President of the Commission and member of its Bureau.

The Commission for Social Development is one of the functional bodies of ECOSOC comprising 46 Member States, which contributes to the elaboration of social policies promoted by the UN at the global level.
